The Machines & The Visionaries

Check out our LA sponsors, plus Don Allen Stevenson III reviews the Meta Glasses, a Fast Company offer, and tool of the week.

šŸ“° News Roundup

  • James Cameron supports AI in movies: Speaking as part of a partnership with Meta, Cameron was interviewed by The Verge this week, speaking positively on AI in film: ā€œPeople say: Gen AI can’t be as creative as humans. I think that’s dead wrong. I think it could be just as creative. What it can’t do is create that unique lived experience of an individual viewpoint, which is what we love the most in literature, in novels and film. It can’t do that, but it can be in service of that unique vision. And I intend to embrace it as much as I can.ā€

  • Even ice cream isn’t safe from AI: Magnum ice cream has decided to turn to AI to help the brand design new products and find new alternatives to synthetic dyes. In-turn, Magnum hope to find a new best-selling flavor. A partnership with NotCo AI has been drawn up to try and achieve this.

  • AI Music caught plagiarizing? One of our favorite AI tools SUNO is now in a lawsuit as major record labels are accusing the company of ripping original songs from YouTube. Suno has claimed that training its models on copyrighted materials is legally protected under the fair use doctrine.

  • AI-generated politicians: Albania has created an AI-generated member of parliament. Releasing a video where she addresses the public. The member of parliament 'Diella' was appointed by Prime Minister Edi Rama last week.

šŸ› ļø Tool Of The Week: Producer.ai

Producer.ai is a new music AI app with a twist. Not only can you create music from prompts, but Producer also works from photos. Translating its visual mood, colors, and shapes into a unique audio composition. Think of it as synesthesia powered by AI: your favorite snapshot, artwork, or even a meme can become the foundation of a soundtrack. It’s a fresh way to merge visual storytelling with music, opening up wild possibilities for creators, brands, and anyone who wants to hear what their world sounds like.

šŸ¤– Don Allen Stevenson III: Meta Glasses First Response

There’s no denying it, Don Allen Stevenson III is one of our all-time favorite speakers as part of Artist and the Machine. Speaking at our LA Salon just a few months ago at Neuehouse in Venice, LA. As Meta have just dropped the new model of AI Rayban glasses and those viral Oakley performance lenses, who better to give their take on the new technology than Stevenson himself?

ā

I tested Meta's new Ray-Ban Display glasses with the Neural Band. This isn't a product review. This is about what happens when technology finally gets out of the way.

In a fascinating and insightful blog post, Stevenson breaks down the new technology. To read the full article, click HERE.
