First LA Summit Speakers Unveiled
*PLUS* New Human Lounge format and chance to submit questions

Theme
Human-machine collaboration is not a finished idea, and the questions steering it are changing as quickly as the tools. What once centred on whether AI belongs in creative work has evolved into a harder question: What makes a human contribution meaningful once it does?
Our first LA speakers contextualize that question across a range of fields: Vincent Kadlubek of Meow Wolf, Behnaz Farahi of MIT Media Lab, Jo Shoesmith of Amazon, artist Kelly Boesch, Michael Nash of Universal Music Group, and Nicholas Thompson of The Atlantic.

Across AI in Hollywood, immersive entertainment, consumer brands, gaming, music, and physical AI, we’re creating space for questions that are difficult to resolve within any one field, and for the ideas that emerge when those perspectives collide.
Extending those conversations into a more participatory format, this year’s Human Lounge introduces salon-style discussions for select community members, built around candid debate, unfinished ideas, and questions that benefit from being explored across disciplines.
What question would you like to explore with a carefully curated room?

Motion Picture Association Strikes Deal with ByteDance for IP Protections in AI Video, Image Models: Variety reports that the two developed a framework to protect the film and TV industries’ intellectual property across ByteDance’s suite of AI generative products, including the AI video and image generators Seedance and Seedream.
I Saw the Future of AI in a Robot That Can Learn on the Spot: WIRED visits Generalist AI, where robots learn tasks from short videos and improvise when conditions change, pointing toward machines that can generalize rather than simply repeat trained motions.
Just a few early bird tickets remain for the Artist and the Machine Summit in LA this December:
