At Our Dinner With Wyclef Jean and Flosstradamus
Plus: Artlist, Air, and Amazon Design Join the LA Summit

Theme
Creative work has long begun with a search - for the right reference, an approved asset, or the campaign that explains why a brand looks and sounds the way it does. AI is folding that search into the act of making, as archives and generative tools increasingly work from the same context. Less time digging through the past means more room to experiment, more room to give shape to the future. But the catch is that some of the tedious work is precisely how creatives come to understand what they like, and develop a point of view that makes their work distinct. If you never have to sift through the minutia, how will you come to be acquainted with the devil in those details?
Signal
We recently hosted Taste & Intelligence, an exclusive dinner with Air and 528Hz, bringing together friends of Artist and the Machine like Flosstradamus, Wyclef Jean, the founders of Othership, and a collection of others shaping the future of creative work. Over the course of the evening, the conversation danced around how to give machines enough context to become truly useful without letting our own human creative sparks atrophy. Air is building squarely into that tension, with an agent that holds a brand's memory, organizes the creative library, and uses that context to handle the tedious work, so teams spend less time re-defining the brand and more time imagining what's next.
LA Summit
Amazon Design at Summit
Joining our LA Summit programming is Jo Shoesmith, Amazon’s Global Chief Creative Officer, who leads the teams behind some of the company’s biggest global creative and brand work. On the Machine Stage, Mike Houston, Amazon Design’s Head of Creative AI, will lead a hands-on session exploring how teams can use AI not just to make things faster, but to open up new creative possibilities along the way. Alongside a deeper conversation on where creative AI is heading, expect live experimentation, practical examples, and a more workshop-style look at how creative teams can bring curiosity into increasingly functional AI workflows.
Artlist Joins Us In LA
The creative palette is getting much bigger, and the old line between finding an asset and making one is starting to blur. Artlist sits right in that shift, bringing music, footage and SFX together with AI tools for video, image, music and voice, all in one place built for production. Artlist joins as a partner of our LA Summit this December to explore what opens up when more of the raw material of creativity becomes fluid, remixable, and ready to move.
Pulse
Made by People: The BBC looks at the "human premium," the growing value people place on work they know a person made. "Human made" labels are showing up on books, films and albums, and academics are working on a Fairtrade-style mark for human-made work. Nobody has settled who would certify it or how much AI use would disqualify a piece.
Superintelligence, Over a Pint: Mark Zuckerberg and Alexandr Wang sat down with Stripe's John Collison on Cheeky Pint to talk about Muse, Meta's new personal AI agent, and the $100 billion-plus infrastructure bet behind it. Zuckerberg argued that the best use of superintelligence is invention and creation rather than automation, and said he expects glasses to become a product that sees and hears what you do, possibly without an app store.
Character.ai Looks for a Buyer: Character.ai filed for Chapter 11 on October 12 to run a court-supervised sale, and says the platform will be wound down if no workable bid comes in. The company expects the process to finish by early December. The characters its users built, and the microdrama series it launched this summer, now depend on who buys it.
